Resume:
The diary of Anne Frank is one of the most read books in the world. It’s dated from 12 June 1942 until 4 Augus 1944.
Anne Frank was a girl who was born on 12
June 1929 in Frankfurt, Germany. Her father was called Otto Frank and her
mother was called Edith Frank-Hollander. She also had a sister Margot, who was
3 years older. After four happy years, the Nazi’s came to
power. Because of her German Jewish descent, she and her family moved to
Holland in 1933. Her father started a business and Edith, Margot and Anne were
living in Amsterdam. The girls both went to school where Anne showed an aptitude
for writing. Holland became occupied by the Nazi’s in 1940 and put the family
under a threat. The girls could only attend Jewish
school, faced curfews, couldn’t have a own business and they were forced to
wear a yellow star. When Anne became 13, her father gave her
a book with a small lock. She proceeded to use this book as her diary. The first
entries started with detailing how her family were discriminated against. In
July 1942, her sister got a call which made
the family hiding earlier than was planned. On 6 July 1942, her family went hiding along
with four other families. They hid in a place that was specially prepared space
above the offices of their business. They were supported by a group of friends,
who brought them everything they needed.Anne wrote everyday in her diary about
how it was to live in such extreme circumstances, it also shows that Anne was struggling with growing up.Her diary ends in 1944 because the Nazi’s
found her hiding place. The girls were first sent to Auschwitz and then to
Bergen-Belsen. They died there in 1945.Her father was the only one who
survived, so when he came back to Holland he edited her diary and published it
in 1947. Her diary has been translated into 67 languages and is exceptionally
popular.
My opinion: I think that Anne Frank her story is
really sad, no one deserves it to live that way. I think that the article could
have been written better. The information in that article was more about Anne Frank
and her family before all the horrible stuff happend, but in her diary is a lot
information about the circumstances when she was hiding, and I think that it’s
a shame that they didn’t mention all that stuff in the article.
